Here is Keith’s story:
“Growing up, I was always involved in all kinds of sports. My focus was on baseball, which I played competitively until High School, where I became extremely involved in the Music program. This didn’t leave the time for me to continue playing baseball, however I remained active by playing pick-up football or basketball games almost every day after school with a good group of friends.
After a few years of college, I began to focus more on going to the gym and working out on a regular basis. The summer before my senior year in particular, my day consisted of working out at the gym for 2 hours, mostly with resistance training, and then going to work as abarback where I spent my evenings lugging kegs and cases of beer around a nightclub. That summer schedule put me in the best shape of my life at 21 years old….until P90X!
During my senior year, I met my wife, began job hunting, and in general, “life” just took over. Work and family committments took priority (rightfully so), and despite trying to stay in some kind of shape at the local “Y,” my gym routine was scattered and infrequent at best.
7 years and 3 beautiful sons later, at 34 years old, I had ballooned to almost 200 lbs., and didn’t like who I saw when I looked in the mirror. I also went through the pain of losing my older brother to Cancer when he was only 37 years old. It was at that point that I decided looking for ways to get in shape, with minimal impact on time spent with my family. I no longer had motivation to go to a gym to workout, especially in the shape I was in. After talking to some friends who had already started, and seeing a few infomercials, I discovered P90X.
Logging on to Beachbody and purchasing P90X was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I completely dedicated myself to the program, getting up at 5AM to do my workouts without missing out on any family time. I started feeling a difference almost immediately, and noticed a big difference at my Day 28 pictures, which inspired me to keep going! I finished my first round and moved on to The Asylum, then back for another Round of P90X followed by the P90X / Insanity hybrid. I am currently in my 3rd full round of P90X, preparing for P90X2, and I am happy to say I am now at a very comfortable 171 lbs., and am NOW in the best shape of my life!
I do have to say that a CRITICAL part of my journey was connecting with a fantastic coach in Chris Balmert. He has helped me tremendously in my fitness journey and I could not have achieved these results without his tips, support, and motivation.”
